Jet Propulsion Laboratory Management Training Workshops
Challenge:
Create manageable management workshops for thousands
When an organization the size of Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) decides to train its management, the proposition is a bit out-of-this-world. JPL employs thousands of people, each with varying levels of knowledge and skill.
That meant our task involved more than creating a single workshop — we needed to create a whole series of them, along with the support materials. Our approach needed to be comprehensive, meaningful, and efficient.
Solution:
Get fresh with audiences and test the response
With a keen awareness to keep things fresh and moving, we developed four workshops:
- Ethical Business Practices
- Employee Assessment
- Reward Recognition Suggestion System
- Managing Your Property
Each was designed to be relatively short, ranging from two to four hours. When the programs were ready, we conducted a pilot test to assess their effectiveness and made refinements based on feedback.
When all systems were go, JPL launched hundreds of individual workshops, training all levels of management.
